NORMAL – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois celebrating graduations as well.
Around 100 kids packed out the Anderson Park Pavilion this afternoon for an end of the year party. There was plenty of food, and lots of games for the kids to enjoy.
That all led up to their graduation ceremony. Littles completed their programs, and some of their mentors, or Bigs, were also honored for completing high school or college.
“Yeah, I think it’s cool for the kids to kind of see, that hey my big graduated, and that kind of gives them a sense of future for themselves,” said Jourdan Bellgardt, a case work supervisor for McLean County.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is still looking for volunteers to help keep the program running. It costs about $1,200 a year to sponsor one child.
